Tri-County EMS teaches class in school districts

Tri-County EMS paramedics are taking what they learn in training into the school districts. Miguel Munoz and Albert Howie with Tri-County EMS taught a bleeding control class to Ingleside ISD administrators and nursing personnel on Sept. 28. The class addresses the different types of bleeding, ways to pack a wound and how to use a tourniquet. Munoz explained training and paramedic protocols are always evolving. “Several years ago we were told to never use a tourniquet,” Munoz said. “Now, we’re learning tourniquets and packing wounds can save lives.”
