Progress/Index staff seeks residents help for hurricane book
Hurricane Harvey came tearing through the Coastal Bend area, and all residents probably have a story to tell, whether it’s about evacuating, riding out the storm, or when they returned.
The Aransas Pass Progress/Ingleside Index staff will be publishing a book about the storm and is asking residents to submit their photos and/or stories for the publication. A portion of the proceeds of the book will be benefit the Aransas Pass and Ingleside libraries.
The book will include the communities of Aransas Pass, Ingleside, and Ingleside on the Bay. Residents are asked to send their stories and/or accompanying photos to email@example.com. All stories will be edited if necessary. Residents who would like assistance in submitting their story may schedule an appointment with editor Norma L. Martinez, by sending an email to the aforementioned address, or by calling 361-758-5391.
In addition, the staff has not selected a title for this book and will be holding a contest to name it. More information about that contest will be released later, as the staff is working on a timeline for publication of the book.
When published, the book will be sold at the Aransas Pass Progress office, which also will be home to the new Progress Office Supply. The new business will open when the newspaper office of the Aransas Pass Progress/Ingleside Index reopens in a couple of months.
