Panthers Fall to Orange Grove
The Aransas Pass High School football team falls to 0-2 after losing 32-0 to Orange Grove at Bo Bonorden Memorial Stadium on Sept. 2.
Orange Grove scored first on a 12-yard pass after blocking a Panther punt in the first quarter. Orange Grove missed the extra point, and the 6-0 lead would stand until the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Orange Grove would find the end zone twice. Orange Grove scored on an 18-yard run to go up 12-0. Later in the second, Orange Grove would march down the field and finish the drive on a one-yard touchdown run to go up 18-0.
Orange Grove would take that lead into the half.
The Panthers would come out throwing the ball off the arm of quarterback Will Arrington. But the Panthers would end turning the ball over on downs to start the third quarter.
Aransas Pass would get the ball back after stopping Orange Grove on fourth down. The Panthers lost a fumble on the opening play of the drive, AP third fumble of the game.
Orange Grove would capitalize on the turnover on another running touchdown to go up 25-0.
Orange Grove intercepted a pass late in the third and capitalized on another turnover scoring the game's final touchdown.
The Panthers were without Tim Weekley who was injured against Rockport in Week 1. Aransas Pass will face Taft on homecoming on Sept. 9.
