HEB appreciates customers
The local HEB recently hosted a customer appreciation fiesta which also marked the anniversary of Hurricane Harvey. HEB Unit Director Martin Salazar explained the purpose was a gesture to show appreciation to the customers over the past year for their continued loyalty, in spite of their own losses. He said many were displaced, and/or lost their jobs, and the schools were shut down for months. The event is geared to recognizing their resiliency, and fact the community is rebuilding, and things are getting better. Mayor Ram Gomez thanked HEB for everything the company did in the days after the storm providing water, ice, food, etc. which was needed by the residents. Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Rosemary Vega noted, “We are blessed to have HEB in our community because they are community-oriented. They were instrumental in our recovery days after the storm, and throughout the year.” Customers were treated to cake and punch, and the ability to win door prizes, which were baskets of goodies created by each HEB department.
