Local family grateful to return to new home
After living in hotels for almost a year since Hurricane Harvey, Aransas Pass resident Kristian Degrange thought Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group (CBDRG) was only laying the pad for a manufactured home for her and her family and she just wanted to see it. What she didn’t realize was the structure was there too, and although the family wasn’t supposed to move in for a little bit longer, she was allowed to do so the day before the one-year “anniversary” of the storm.
Degrange explained, “I had this overwhelming need to come home, and I can only say it was God. I start coming down the road and I see it from the end of the road and I think no way, people are mowing their grass, and I just start screaming, ‘Oh my goodness, no way, no way.’”
