Janie Lou Perkins Chandler Barbree
Janie Lou Perkins Chandler Barbree passed from this life after a courageous battle with Alzeheimer’s Disease on Aug. 16, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born and raised in Sinton, to the late Houston and Pearlie Perkins on July 16, 1937. Janie married the late John Henry Chandler in 1954 and moved to Aransas Pass where they resided and raised their four children. After the passing of John in 1975 she married the late Joe Edwin Barbree Sr. in 1980 and he became “Pop” to her children and grandchildren. Janie was preceded in death by two daughters, Joanna Rollins and Johnnie “MeJohn” Boaz and her brother, Doyle Perkins. Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her daughter, Jan Baker and husband Clint of Leakey, TX; her son, John “Buddy” Henry Chandler Jr. and wife Sylvia of Aransas Pass; her sister, Janet Wilison and husband Jim of Sinton; two sons-in-law, Fred Rollins and Matt Boaz; her grandchildren, Timothy “T.J.” Rollins, Jennifer and Ken Manchester, Shawna Howell, Kevin and Sarah Rollins, Billy Don and Tracy Tolleson, Alesha and Wesley Nix, Dallas Lopez, and Faith Chandler; and her great grandchildren, Brooke Howell, Audrey Howell, Kacey Tolleson, Addison Tolleson, Tyler Nix, Taylen Nix and Samuel Manchester. Janie was loved by all and so she has an extended family of nieces, nephews, nurses, certified nursing aides, and friends who will cherish her memory. She will be remembered by most with her contagious smile and her special words “I love you too.” In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, St. Gabriel’s Hospice or a charity of your choice. Graveside services were held in Aransas Pass at the Prairie View Cemetery Monday, Aug. 20, 2018.
