Panther baseball team loses close district matchups
The Aransas Pass High School varsity Panther baseball team battled with district rivals last week before losing in close games to Sinton and Rockport-Fulton.
The Panthers hosted Sinton Tuesday, March 22, and fell 4-3, even though they outhit the Pirates seven to five.
Sinton scored first, one run in the top of the first inning, scoring one run. The Panthers answered with one run in the top of the second inning, and two in the top of the third to take a 3-1 lead. Sinton pulled away with three runs in the third inning to overtake the lead.
Dylan Cole led things off on the mound for Aransas Pass. He went three innings, giving up the four runs on four hits, striking out one and walking one. Ben Bennett threw three innings in relief, giving up one hit, and striking out five.
