Tri County EMS stayed throughout hurricane
Throughout its almost 40 years in operation, Tri County EMS first responders have had to to batten down the hatches at the EMS building as well as their own homes, then prepare to hunker down in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm. And although none of the current staff had dealt with a direct hit from one, they followed procedure for Hurricane Harvey, and this time, they had to ride out a storm – literally.
They worked calls up until they the weather would not allow them to continue, then they had to wait overnight before they could start responding once again. As first responders, they were never completely off duty, and picked up on the heels of Harvey as soon as possible, providing EMS services as if they had never stopped.
