AP native seeks Ingleside man he met in Vietnam
It was a chance meeting in Vietnam 52 years ago between two men whose hometowns were just four miles apart, yet they had to travel around the world to be introduced, and that’s all it was – a brief introduction. One of those men, Aransas Pass native Floyd Wiley is now trying to find that man, who as it turns out was an Ingleside native.
Wiley was born in Aransas Pass in 1945 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1963 at the age of 17. His parents signed for him and he went to San Antonio for his intake processing. He then had a long bus ride to Fort Polk in Louisiana, a ride he was excited about taking.
