Panthers win homecoming game, clinch playoff spot

The Aransas Pass Panthers celebrated their homecoming in a big way Friday, Nov. 3, by decisively defeating the Wharton Tigers 63- 41, and clinching a playoff spot in District 15-4A with one game left in the district season.

They travel to Sweeny Friday, Nov. 10, sitting in fourth place, but regardless of the outcome, the Panthers will head to the playoffs for the first time since they moved to Class 4A. After the game, Head Coach Ryan Knostman said, “Every game, every time, they keep fighting, and they keep battling.”

He said about the Panthers, “Their effort and their heart was the the difference in the game, They were good, but we don’t give up or give in, we wear people down, and that’s what happened tonight.”
