Raymond Lara Pena
Raymond Lara Peña, 51, passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, NM on Oct. 7, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born in Racine, WI on Nov. 2, 1965. Although he lived in New Mexico for the past two years, Raymond was a lifelong resident of the Aransas Pass area, where he worked for more than 15 years as a crane operator. He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his father Luis Peña II, his sister Lucy B. Garcia, his grandson Raymond Brady Peña, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife Diana Enriquez- Peña; his children, Brandy (C.J.) Darst, Brittany Peña, Raymond Peña Jr., Ryder Peña, and Rekkar Peña; stepchildren, Madalyn (Tadeo) Perez, Danielle Enriquez, and Manuel Guerra; grandchildren, Bryan and Dylan Darst, Aleigha Peña, and Lucas Perez; his parents Carmen and Freddie Brown; siblings, Grace (Melvin) Davis, Marylou Peña, Luis Peña III, Juanita (Arnold Sanchez) Brown, Gracie Brown, Olivia Brown, Olga (Jimmy) Kilgore, Dominic Peña, Nicolas (Lucy) Garcia, Freddie (Rita) Brown, Kathy Brown, and Leslie (Joey) Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Nov. 3, 2017 at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass.
