The Aransas Pass Shrimporee grounds are littered with piles of debris as well as brush and limbs as part of the cleanup effort after Hurricane Harvey. Crews from the City’s debris removal contractor have been picking up debris and taking it to the Shrimporee grounds, a location at which the brush/limbs are mulched. The area serves as a staging area for the debris until such time as it is transferred. The task of clearing the entire city will likely take several months. Residents are reminded to separate into the following categories: household trash, vegetative debris, construction and demolition debris, appliances and white goods, electronics, and household hazardous waste. Storm debris will not be collected unless it is sorted and moved to the curb.
