City Council meets with four finalists for city manager
The Aransas Pass City Council met in closed session for 7-1/2 hours Saturday, July 29 to interview the final four candidates for the position of City Manager. There was no action item on Saturday’s agenda, however the council did instruct staff to place an item on the council’s regular term meeting Aug. 7, in regard to hiring a new city manager.
Interim City Manager Fernando Quintanilla said the council met with each candidate for approximately an hour, with no others allowed in the executive session. The applicants also had the opportunity to meet with City staff members as they were waiting to be interviewed.
Quintanilla said council members reported the process ran smoothly. The difficulty will be in making a final decision as all candidates are knowledgeable and each have something they can bring to the City of Aransas Pass. He said they all have unique talents which could benefit the City.
