City action paves way for future ‘brewpub
The Aransas Pass City Council took action to pave the way for a new brewpub in downtown Aransas Pass in the next year.
The action was taken during a regular meeting Monday, July 17. Due to Monday press deadlines before the council meeting, information about action taken is not able to published until the week after the meeting. At Monday’s session, Kathryn Foley of Aransas Pass Brewing LLC, explained they purchased the property at 130 E. Goodnight Ave. as well as 144 E. Goodnight, and would like to build a small brewery, pub, and beer garden, with the possible name “Hook and Ladder” Brewery and Pub.
The name stems from the fact the property used to be the home of the fire station. She said they have 7,000 square feet which will be used for parking. The brewery will be built on the west half of the property, and the pub will be on the east half.
