2017 Shrimporee draws in crowds
The 2017 Shrimporee saw none of the intermittent rains, which plagued the area last week, during the three-day event which saw crowds estimated at about 40,000-plus come through the grounds.
Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce CEO Rosemary Vega said, “It was an amazing event. I have never seen so much support from (the many volunteers) who were here all weekend.”
There were about 1,000 volunteers throughout the weekend and that included the mayor, several city council members, the interim city manager. She added, “I could not be more proud to be part of Aransas Pass,” as she pointed out the entire city came together to make Shrimporee a success.
