Ramona Edison Ramirez
Ramona Edison Ramirez, 79, after years of fighting kidney failure and receiving continues treatments decided to leave her life in the, “hands or the lord” and joined her rightful place with her beloved husband Vale who she was married to for 64 years. She was born February 25, 1937 to Santiago and Olivia Edison of Goliad, Texas. Ramona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her and Vale loved Tejano dancing and shouting many gritos with the mariachi bands, she was a wonderful baker so her kids will say, she participated in many church function such as holding prayer meetings in her younger days and singing for the church choir. Towards the end of her time she very much enjoyed going to everyone’s house during the holidays to grab a bite to eat, and one of her newly found favorite things to do was go to Chili’s with her family and order a strawberry daiquiri. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings were Guadelupe, Sylvester, Alfredo, and Arturo Edison. Ramona is survived by her sisters; Connie (Rumaldo) Perez of Refugio, Eva Edison of Goliad, and her brother Ruben Cantu of Goliad. Her loving sons Baleriano Ramirez Jr. and his wife Vicki, Richard Ramirez, Johnny Ray Ramirez and his wife Lily; daughters, Rosalinda Alvarado and her husband Vicente, Esther Vasquez and her husband Joe, Deanna Trevino and her husband Roel. Ramona had 22 grandchildren, 48 greatgrandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12 noon-9 p.m. with Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Aransas Pass. Mass will be celebrated at 10a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Ingleside. At the request of the family, interment will be private.
