Although Hurricane Harvey shattered the lives of many, one local businesswoman was able to achieve her dreams earlier than anticipated, thanks to the storm.

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs across the USA opened their hearts donating to South Texas Harvey Relief. Of the over $150,000 donated, $47,000 was designated to libraries.

Teams in the Tri-City Youth Soccer League (TCYSL) participated in the regional Coastal Bend Youth Soccer Association (CBYSA) playoffs this weekend at Salinas Park.

Obituaries

Teodoro M. Otero passed away May 11, 2018. He was 83. Teodoro was born Nov. 9, 1934 in Aransas Pass to Beatrice (Mendoza) and Amado Otero. Teodoro was a lifelong resident of Aransas Pass.

It is with great sadness the family of Refugia “Cuca” Castro announces her passing Monday, April 30, 2018, at the age of 82.

Jack Harlan McCarty, 87, passed away May 6, 2018. He was born April 6, 1931 in Stamford, Texas to James Sidney McCarty and Ruby Mae Harlan McCarty. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S.
