The City of Aransas Pass is working with the United States Census Bureau to make certain all local residents are counted for the 2020 Census. The Federal Census, which began in the year 1790, happens every 10 years and it is that time again.
The classic 1960’s movie, “Where The Boys Are” began an annual crazy that has never let up. This tradition continues next week with the annual installment of Spring Break. Connie Francis’ version of the hit movie song has been replaced by many genes of music but the result is still the same. Spring Break is a time for rest, relaxation, fun and for the student, getting ready to put the “pedal to the metal.”
Chapter Preceptor Kappa Lambda of Portland and Aransas Pass has crowned our 2020 Sweetheart of the year, Liz Dorris. Our sweetheart each year is picked from one of our sorority sisters who has exemplified our motto of “Life, Learning, and Friendship.” Liz has done this by showing her friendliest, loveliest-minded, and most sociable self to her fellow sisters throughout the year. She serves as secretary to the sorority this year and last. She takes the club virtues of “courage, vision, humility, loyalty, fellowship, and service” very seriously. We are proud to crown her our Sweetheart of the year.
An accurate 2020 census count is critical to Aransas Pass progress
