Crowds filled the Shrimporee grounds in Aransas Pass June 10th to 12th, enjoying a huge midway filled with rides, vendors offering all kinds of shrimp dishes, and music to sooth the soul – one group wearing shirts reminding the public to ‘Remember Uvalde’, the Texas community shattered by a mass school shooting. But even amid such sorrow visitors from near and far came to relax and forget about the pandemic and inflation. Next year the event marks its silver anniversary, 75 years celebrating the city’s role in shrimping. Credit: Rebecca Madden/Aransas Pass Progress
