
Being visible is a big goal for Sheriff Oscar Rivera of all his deputies, including Box, who enjoys most of all his interactions with the public, waving at those he passes by, or just taking the time to help educate motorists about the law. During a recent patrol he stopped to check on an abandoned pickup truck on Main St. (FM 1069) not far from the Enbridge Ingleside Energy Center tank farm.

Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Box, 31, is one of many uniformed law enforcement officials whose territory includes the eastern edge, or most populated section of San Patricio County, an area that encompasses Aransas Pass, Ingleside, and Ingleside on the Bay, among others. He’s fulfilling a career goal he’s had since high school.
