Aransas Pass Progress
Aransas Pass Police Officer Terry Camack, II has already proven his alacrity and keen skills in crime detection since he joined the force about two years ago, formerly a Deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in San Antonio. Camack has already logged several narcotics busts and hopes one day to join a DEA Task Force that operates in the region. He is also a U.S. Army veteran and trained with the elite 82nd Airborne, a division of paratroopers with a history dating to World War I. But Camack is also lucky to be alive and walking after a near death experience during a training exercise when his chute didn’t open early enough, causing him to make a hard landing, seriously injuring his back. Under the Veterans Administration guidelines, he is disabled as a result. His toughness, a spirit he developed thanks to his U.S. Navy father, keeps him going.

He credits his father’s continual influence for encouraging him to join the military to better himself and kept pushing him at every step along the way to achieve greater things. It’s paid off in many ways, including a recent announcement from Southern New Hampshire University that Officer Camack, studying Criminal Justice, has been named to the prestigious Winter 2023 President’s List for his academic superiority. His GPA is 4.0. When Camack graduates in 2025, he will be the first in his family to earn a baccalaureate degree.
