Aransas Pass firefighters James Roberson, 27 (left) and Brian Coldwater, 26 (right) were busy Friday, March 3 outside Walmart, encouraging shoppers to ‘Fill the Boot’, an annual campaign by First Responders nationwide to help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In years past, the fundraising had become synonymous with the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. Coldwater accepts a donation from one motorist who remarked, “It’s not a lot,” describing how much she was able to give, but every little bit was greatly appreciated. At the store’s main entrance, firefighter Jonathan Baker, 30 (left) was joined by Captain Ryan Taylor, 36 (right), explaining that Walmart customers were being generous, and kind. If you missed being able to donate last Friday the fire department will be out in front of the store again this Friday, March 10, and one more time Friday, March 24.
