Aransas Pass Progress Jeff Skipper, 49, is a Mississippi native who found steady work here doing storm restoration following Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 and decided to stay, calling Aransas Pass home. Unable to find decent tasting crawfish anywhere in the Coastal Bend, in 2020 he opened a seasonal business that immediately proved a success, selling the small crustaceans he boils, his proprietary spices a closely guarded secret.

This three-acre lot on FM 2025 across the street from the Moose Lodge in Aransas Pass will soon be known as ‘Magnolia Shade’, a small RV park. Skipper hopes to have it open as soon as he installs the necessary infrastructure like water, sewer, and utilities. Since he broke ground, Skipper explained inflation has more than doubled final construction estimates. Aransas Pass Progress
