McCampbell-Porter plans for growth
Airport Manager Paul Lehnert’s vision is for McCampbell-Porter Airport to be “a top corporate airport which is a welcome mat with a professional appearance so when the corporate jets fly in, they know San Patricio County is ready to do business.” He said McCampbell- Porter Airport is the finest facility for service, quality of buildings and quality of runways. He wants to keep the momentum going and keep pace with the growth of the county. As Airport Manager, Lehnert is one of three employees in the San Patricio County Airport Authority. This includes the McCampbell-Porter Airport in Aransas Pass and the Alfred C. Thomas Airport in Sinton. These three employees are responsible for all of the maintenance and mowing and are presently renovating a small house east of the airport parking lot. Lehnert hopes local community people will come out to visit the first Saturday of every month for a pancake breakfast and enjoy watching planes landing and taking off while sitting on the veranda of the Beacon House.
