James Thomas (Tom) Nations, 73, of Aransas Pass, passed away April 14, 2017 peacefully at his home with friends and family at his side. Tom was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Three Rivers, and raised in Aransas Pass. He served briefly in the USAF and worked most of his life as a welder and pipe fitter. After retirement, he spent much of his time painting, sculpting, listening to his jukebox, and in his words: “being a big ol’ handsome brute.” Tom was preceded in death by his loving parents Frank Nations and Tavie Scheler; his eldest son James Wesley Nations, and his brother Frank Nations, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Peoples Nations; son Tom Nations (HyunJoo) of Geoje, South Korea; “son” Josh Suchetski of San Antonio; “daughter” Sara DeLozier (Jon) of Long Beach, MI; brother Donald Ray Nations of Aransas Pass, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the state of Texas.
