Hands-on training for new election machines hosted by Aransas Pass
The City of Aransas Pass will hold a hands-on training and demonstration for new election equipment which will be utilized this year. The training session will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Aransas Pass Civic Center Roseate Spoonbill Room.
During the City’s General Election set for May 6, 2017, the San Patricio County Election Office will be utilizing the new voting machines, the Verity Touch system, to conduct the election.
City Secretary Mary Juarez explained the city, as well as the Aransas Pass Independent School District, contracts with San Patricio County to conduct elections. When she was contacted by San Patricio County Elections Administrator Pamela Hill about the new equipment, they decided it would be a good idea to provide training.
