Gordon R. Kemp

Gordon R. Kemp went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2016, at his home in Ingleside. He was born October 16, 1936, to R.M. and Pearl Kemp in Baytown, Texas. Gordon served in the U.S. Army Security Agency from 1956-1959 in Germany and in the 90th Infantry Division of the Army Reserve in Sinton. He served 40+ years in the Ingleside Little League as coach, manager and umpire. He was also the Assistant District 29 Administrator Umpire Consultant for 20+ years. He had 51 perfect attendance in the Ingleside Rotary Club where he was awarded the Community Leader Award for 2003-2004. He was also a Director for Tri-County EMS. Gordon always stated that his best adventure in his life was serving his country in the U.S. Military. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Kemp. He is survived by his wife Elaine W. Kemp; sons, Joseph Kemp (Shelly), Royce Kemp (Kassy), John Kemp (Kelly) and Brian Willeford (Bridget); grandchildren, Zachary, Elizebeth, Wendy, Katie and William Kemp, Brandon and Breanna Willeford; sister, Dorothy Brown (Earl); Sister in law, Catherine Kemp; plus nephews, nieces and numerous friends. Visitation was held from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. with family present from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Funeral service conducted by Pastor Tyler Woods were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Interment followed at Prairie View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in Gordon’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
