Fire department teams up with Santa, others

“I remember in the 1970s being a little kid waiting to see Santa. Christmas was cold, but we waited for an hour just for him to hand us a small brown bag with an apple or an orange and a candy cane. He came into town on a red fire truck wearing a red suit. It was the most exciting thing I remember about Christmas. How I miss that. So as a grown up, I now wear a red suit during Christmas. As years went by, I now have Mrs. Clause and some elves. So we did our best to bring the memory back. We had the fire truck at Crow’s Nest. And gave the kids a brown paper bag with an apple and a orange and a candy cane which took place on Sat., Dec. 17.
