Dona Marie Farrar
Dona Marie Farrar (McCartney) passed away peacefully April 23, 2018 with her loving husband by her side. She was 57. Dona was born Jan. 10, 1961 in Corpus Christi, to Dorothy (Carroll) and Charles Edgar McCartney. She was a resident of Aransas Pass, and former resident of Pasadena, Texas for 33 years. In 1988 Dona became a licensed cosmetologist at the Vogue College of Cosmetology. Dona was a board member with the concerned citizens of scouting for Troop 25. She also served as the director and president of the Sandra Sue Benson Animal Adoption Center of Aransas Pass. The adoption center was her passion and she loved all animals dearly, and most of all helping others in need. Dona was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Preceding in death was her father: Charles L. McCartney Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Steven Farrar of Aransas Pass; sons, Steven P. Farrar Jr., Michael Farrar, and Johnny Farrar all of Aransas Pass; sister: Laurie Hajdik of Goliad; five grandchildren, Shawn Farrar, Christina Farrar, Josh Farrar, Austin Farrar, and Kason Farrar; her mother, Dorothy McCartney; brothers, Danny Jackson of Aransas Pass, and Charlie E. McCartney of Rockdale. A memorial service was held Saturday April 28, at Central Baptist Church in Ingleside. Guestbook available online at www.resthavenfunerals.com.
