City of Aransas Pass handles ‘extraordinary storm’ issues
The City of Aransas Pass was faced with an extraordinary rain storm which began last week and continued until Sunday, Sept. 16, resulting in more than 20 inches of rain in that period of time, said City Manager Gary Edwards. That number is based on information from the City’s Emergency Operations Center and the National Weather Service.
Rains began last weekend, however torrential rains from Storm Invest 95L arrived Friday, Sept. 14. The City manager pointed out City personnel worked around the clock from Wednesday until Sunday. He noted, “They did a remarkable job by keeping the major flood waters at bay.”
