CAF inducts four new members
The Third Coast Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force has four new members in its Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held at the Museum of Military History at the McCampbell-Porter Airport. South Texas veterans are nominated based on their exemplary active duty service whether they are active, retired or honorably discharged. Lt. Tobin Armstrong was honored posthumously for his service in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Serving in the European Theater, Armstrong flew P47s to escort bombing raids over Germany. Of several medals he received, he was awarded the Soldier’s Medal for valor, the highest non-combat medal.
