Being randomly kind every week is good resolution
A new year is less than a week away, and by now many people have probably already started thinking about what they resolve to do better or differently for next year. Something I have been trying to do over the last few years is to perform a random act of kindness at least once a week, but more if, and when, the opportunity arises.
A random act is just that – random, not planned or orchestrated. It does not even have to be an act of great magnitude, but if it turns out to be one, well that’s even better.
For example, I was in the Post Office recently and saw a couple attempting to tape a package, but were having trouble getting a grip on the end of the tape roll. As I offered my assistance, the man pointed out he suffers from Parkinson’s and has trouble gripping things because of the shaking. It took just a few seconds to get the end of the tape roll pulled out, and within a minute or so, the package was successfully taped and ready to be mailed.
They were grateful for the help, and I was glad something so simple could make them that happy.
