AP City manager presents 2018 year-end review

We are entering the new year of 2019. 2018 has been a monumental, if not historic, year for the City of Aransas Pass. 2018 was our first full post-Hurricane Harvey year. Unfortunately, recovery work is not a one-year process. It will take several years. The massive recovery work must move forward in tandem with our normal day-to-day work. It is interesting to look back at 2018 to see what has been accomplished:

• We have overseen the clean-up of more than $8 million worth of hurricane debris.

• Work is starting on the collapsed half-a-million gallon water tank. It will be a modern looking composite, single stem structure.

• The Civic Center repair work is about 90 percent complete.

• The City’s first-ever Comprehensive Plan was started and completed during 2018.
