AP begins post-Harvey long-term planning

The City of Aransas Pass officially kicked off its post Harvey Long-Term Community Recovery (LTCR) planning process beginning with a City Council and department directors retreat Saturday, Oct. 21, which was led by FEMA officials. The LTCR is a program created by FEMA, but implemented by local governments.

During the retreat, a half day discussion was held concerning long-term recovery planning, which can last from a year to five years and longer. The goal of long-term recovery is the re-establishment of a healthy, functioning community, with an additional goal of coming out stronger than before Harvey.
