Amnesty period available before Texas Warrant Roundup begins
The Aransas Pass Municipal Court will be participating in the Texas Warrant Roundup beginning Feb. 24, with agencies from across the state who will combine forces to serve outstanding warrants. The court is offering a warrant amnesty period beginning Friday, Feb. 9 and continuing until Friday, Feb. 23, during which individuals with outstanding warrants have time to take care of those fines without fear of being arrested.
Municipal Court Judge Henri Morales explained during the amnesty period, individuals can come to the court voluntarily and they will not be arrested. She also plans to waive some fees, and offer options to allow individuals to take care of their fines. That includes payment plan agreements, deferred disposition, community service, etc. If the warrant is for a moving/traffic violation, a driving safety course will be available to those who qualify, she said.
