Abelardo “Lalo” Villarreal
Abelardo “Lalo” Villarreal, age 61, passed away on July 9, 2016. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He enjoyed barbecuing, watching sports and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. His passion was spending time with his family and friends. He was an Aransas Pass High School Class of 1974 graduate. He was a former employee of Airborne Express. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ysidro and Rebecca Villarreal, brother, Raul Villarreal, sister-in-law, Lorenza Villarreal. Abelardo is survived by his wife, Norma Villarreal, sons, Alelardo “Abel” Villarreal, Jr., Mark (Lisa) Villarreal, and Rolando Villarreal; sisters, Olivia (Richard) Zepeda, and Julia Ortiz, brothers: Ramon (Rita) Villarreal, Ysidro (Gloria) Villarreal, Jr., and Reynaldo (Ninfa) Villarreal; grandchildren: Carson Villarreal, Ethan Villarreal, Emma Villarreal, Evan Villarreal; sisters-in-law, Becky Villarreal, Maria A. Ramirez and Estella (Rick) Mendez, numerous nephews and nieces. The family received friends on Thursday, July 14, 2016, from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port; with a Holy rosary recited at 7 p.m. Rites of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Cremation followed.
