18 local homes to be reconstructed
Representatives from the United Way of the Coastal Bend’s Disaster Relief Fund met with volunteers of All Hands and Hearts team project manager Brett Bond for the presentation of a $100,000 donation to be used to assist with the cost of rebuilding or repairing 18 homes in the Aransas Pass area.
The presentation was made at the home of local resident Kevin Staack, one of the homeowners who will benefit from the contribution.
UW President/CEO Catrina Wilson said, “After the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, that brought us all to a pretty serious stop, but out of that, hundreds of donors came to us, to ask us to have a disaster relief fund and to please invest it in those programs that could help our friends and neighbors rebuild their lives. And so because of that we are here today for a very special announcement.”
