‘Harvey’ demolition

The original Aransas Pass school facility, better known as the May Allen building, is in the first stages of demolition, but by the end of the day, Wednesday, Aug. 8 it was completely demolished. The action was necessary because of damage from Hurricane Harvey. The facility served as the junior high and high school for many years before new facilities were built. It also housed the prekindergarten and kindergarten student, then later the Aransas Pass Independent School District administrative offices. Several other older buildings in the district have also been demolished.
