An 18-year old Ingleside man was found walking down a city street with a severe gun shot wound to the face after he apparently attempted to commit suicide.
Lead Det. Robert Luna said that the victim’s family stated that the man was having relationship problems with a woman that he had a three-month old daughter with, and that he was under a tremendous amount of stress trying to provide for his child.
The victim used a 20-gauge shotgun on himself at a residence located off the 2700 block of Avenue E in Ingleside, and after shooting himself in the face, had left his residence and was seen by a citizen walking down the street.
When paramedics arrived the victim was still alive and was transported to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery where he remains in critical condition.
