Saturday, October 19 the Aransas Pass Civic Center will be home to the Coastal Bend Classic & Custom Car Show which has been organized by the Wounded Warrior Fan Club, the Bay Rat Chapter.

Registration to enter a car is $15 but entrance into the show is free to the public.

Events will begin at 9 a.m. with a parade in the parking lot of Care Regional Hospital. It will then proceed down West Wheeler to the Civic Center.

Entrants then will complete registration and set-up with opening ceremonies beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The 30 event sponsors will be introduced followed by the Color Guard of the NJROTC. The National Anthem and all five of the armed forces branch hymns will be played.

Trophy presentation will be held at 3 p.m. for 15 different classes with the show closing at 3:30.

Car show entrants will receive a gift bag and one free raffle ticket for the 350/290HP performance parts crate engine. Raffle tickets are available for $10 and the winner does not have to be present at the drawing.

Shirts are also available for $10 and may be purchased at the Aransas Pass Visitor’s Center or at the car show.

Live bands will be performing and a special lunch will be served to all wounded warriors in attendance at the show. A radio remote will broadcast from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

All registration donations, raffle ticket purchases and shirt sales will benefit Wounded Warriors. Show sponsors have funded the expenses.

The Bay Rat Chapter hopes to have 500 cars entered so this is a show not to miss.
